Ken Barlow

Ken Barlow is a four time Emmy Award winning meteorologist in the Twin Cities. Ken has served as an adjunct professor of broadcast meteorology at St. Cloud State University. He is a past member of the Board of Directors and Trustees of the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities and the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Sacramento, California.

Ken has been the Chief Meteorologist at every station where he has worked. WLBZ-TV in Bangor, Maine; KARE-TV Minneapolis/St Paul, MN; WBZ-TV Boston, MA; KXTV-TV Sacramento, CA; KSTP-TV Minneapolis/St Paul, MN. Ken has worked with the University of Minnesota Medical School for the past 8 years as an invited lecturer, The Mayo Clinic, Life Source MN, Allina Health, Park Nicollet Foundation, BringChange2Mind, Team Ortho, Shriners Healthcare for Children, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, among others. Ken has been awarded the Paul Wellstone Advocacy Award from the MN Psychiatric Society and he serves on the International Bipolar Foundation Advisory Board. In the past Ken also sat on the Board of Directors of NAMI MN (National Alliance on Mental Illness). He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Mental Health Community Foundation and is on the Steering Committee for Children’s Mental Health with the Park Nicollet Foundation. Working with Mayo Clinic, Ken and his wife Theresa have helped create a brochure and video offered to newly diagnosed bipolar patients and their families. Theresa works as the head of donor development at My Health for Teens and Young Adults. Ken and Theresa have been married for 37 years and they have three children: Patrick is a professor at the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa; Meredith is a nurse in New Mexico; and Caroline is the volunteer coordinator at The Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
